President’s approval on Gallup is at 39%. Disapproval is at 54%. Rasmussen’s poll shows he is at 44% approval and 54% disapproval. Bush 43′s was 59% approval at this point. He was 44% on election day, when he eked out a win over John F. Kerry.

The question then becomes: If the approval rate does not improve by Election Day+364, do the Progressive Democrats (a.k.a. Hard Left) seriously consider running an opponent in the primary? They might not win, but the aim would be to solidify their control over the Party that began some forty-plus years ago.
