A Wonder Valley man is facing charges of attempted murder after he allegedly attacked and severely injured two people at The Palms Restaurant and Bar  Sunday evening, Nov. 1st .  Sgt. Collins of the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station knew the victims and had been involved in a prior dispute with them.

“They were friends at one point, but other than that, that’s as far as I know,” he said.

Sgt.  Casas, a station watch commander said deputies interviewed several people after the incident but did not know whether they’d witnessed the actual stabbing.

“I don’t know if we have any or not,” he said of witnesses. “I have not seen the report.”

The watch commander said deputies found Burum hiding behind a Dumpster at the iconic restaurant and bar a short time after the alleged crime. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was booked into West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, with bail set at $1 million.
