There’s an ad on a ‘pro-UN’ blog that claims that the US war budget is $168 billion, but that UN peacekeeping is only 1/28th of that

That’s like comparing chemotherapy with aspirin.

  1. I noticed that ad says nothing about comparitive effectiveness either. Off the top of my head I can’t think of any U.N. “peacekeeping” mission that was successful.

    Also, I think if we compare rape per dollar spent…..

  2. The Korean War was successful in stopping China’s advance, as far as that goes. But then, the Security Council was careful to vote when the Russian emissary briefly left the room. … and now South Korea is full of signs saying, “Americans not welcome here.” Or so I’ve heard.
